Dr. Ronald P. DeMatteo has 24 years of experience in the field of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and General Surgery. He earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University and his MD from Weill Cornell Medicine. After completing his residency in General Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, he went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He also completed two Postdoctoral Training in Virology and Molecular Biology and Immunology and Transplantation at the University of Pennsylvania and a Research Fellowship in Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Surgery. Formerly, this expert held roles as the Vice Chair and an Attending Surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Associate Dean at Weill Cornell Medicine. Currently, he serves as a Physician at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and as the John Rhea Barton Professor and Chair of the Department of Surgery at Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
