Expert Qualifications
Dr. Vera M. Howe has 22 years of experience in the field of Optometry. She earned her BA in Biology from Azusa Pacific University and both her BS in Visual Sciences and her OD from the Illinois College of Optometry. After completing an externship in Optometry at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, she went on to complete a residency in Corena and Contact Lens at the Illinois Eye Institute. Today, she is a licensed Optometrist in the State of Iowa. Formerly, she served as an Optometrist at McDonald Optical. She currently serves as an Optometrist in both the Contact Lens Clinic and the Eye Care Clinic within the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and both the Treasurer and an Optometrist at Optix Eye Design.
