Expert Qualifications
Dr. Joel B. Epstein has 43 years of experience in the fields of Dentistry and Oral Medicine. He earned his DMD from the University of Saskatchewan and his MSD from the University of Washington. He completed his residency in Oral Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center. Today, this expert is a Certified Specialist in Oral Medicine and a Licensed Dentist in the States of Washington and California. Formerly, this expert served as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral Medical and Surgical Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Dentistry, as the Director of the Graduate Program in Oral Medicine in the Department of Oral Medicine at the University of Washington, and as the Head of Oral Medicine and Diagnostic Services at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. Most recently, he served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and as a Medical Staff Member in the Department of Hospital Dentistry at the University of Washington Medical Center. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Oral Health Services within the Surgery Department at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center and as the Medical Director of the Cancer Dentistry Program at Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. He also has his own private practice, Oral Medicine Pacific, and serves as a Professor in the Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
