Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified expert has over 25 years of experience in medical oncology, and he specializes in head, neck, and lung cancer. He obtained his BS in biology from Texas A&M University, before receiving his MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He then completed a residency in internal medicine at the Methodist Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. Today, this expert is double board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Texas Medical Foundation and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He is also active in research and has led a clinical trial on the screening and early detection of lung cancer. Moreover, he has published and presented on various topics related to head, neck, and lung cancer. This expert previously served as the director of hematology/oncology at John Peter Smith Hospital, as well as the director of the hematology/oncology fellowship and as an assistant and associate professor of hematology/oncology at UT Southwestern. He is currently an attending physician of medicine at two hospitals, a professor of hematology/oncology at a major medical school, and the chief of solid tumor oncology service at a major university-affiliated hospital in Texas.
