Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified pathologist is triple board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and forensic pathology. He earned his BS and MD from the University of Iowa before completing a pathology residency in pathology from the University of North Carolina and a prestigious fellowship in forensic pathology at the North Carolina Chief Medical Examiner's Office. He is very active in his field as a member of multiple professional societies and is a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Scientists, the College of American Pathologists, and the National Association of Medical Examiners. In addition, he has published 2 books on forensic pathology and death investigation and over 60 peer-reviewed articles. Formerly, he has held many roles in the forensic pathology field as a death investigator for the state of South Dakota and the deputy medical examiner for the state of Iowa. He currently serves as a professor of pathology at a major medical school in South Dakota, is a forensic pathologist for a consulting group, and is a medical director for a forensic laboratory.
