Dr. Brian Sims has over 19 years of experience in the field of Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He earned his BS from the University of Alabama Birmingham and his MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. After completing his residency in Pediatrics at St Louis Children's Hospital, he went on to complete a prestigious fellowship in Neonatology at the University of Alabama Hospital. Today, this expert is board certified in Pediatrics. He is active in his field as a member of several professional societies including the Student National Medical Association, the Society of Pediatric Research, and the American Medical Association. He also contributes to research in his field as the author of several peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters. Formerly, this expert held roles as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Cell Developmental and Integrative Biology at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Cell Developmental and Integrative Biology at the University of Alabama Birmingham and as a Scientist at Civitan International Research Center.
