Expert Qualifications
Dr. Christopher R. Thompson has 17 years of experience in the fields of Forensic Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He earned his BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Virginia and his MD from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. After completing both an internship and a residency in General Psychiatry at Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA, he completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the UC School of Medicine and another fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Today, this expert is board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Additionally, he is board certified in Addiction Medicine through the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Formerly this expert served as the Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Division and as the Director of Juvenile Court Mental Health Services for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. He currently serves as a Forensic Psychiatric Consultant in Private Practice. He is also a Voluntary Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Site Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Moreover, he is the Medical Director of the Juvenile Justice Mental Health Program for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.
