He received his BA in chemistry from Gustavus Adolphus College before earning both his MS in criminal justice and his PhD in analytical chemistry from Michigan State University. He actively participates in continuing education to stay up to date on the latest practices in the field. This expert is active in his field as a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and the Council of Forensic Science Educators. He is also highly involved in research, serving as the principal investigator for over 10 grant-funded forensic chemistry studies.
