Expert Qualifications
This expert is a Board Certified in Psychiatry, with a background in pharmacology. He received is PhD in Pharmacology and his MD at Northwester University. He did his Psychiatry residency at Harvard Medical School and a fellowship in Geriatric Psychopharmacology at the National Institute of Mental Health. He has thirty years of experience practicing Geriatric Psychiatry/Psychopharmacology. He is among the early leaders in his field; he is credited with founding the Geriatric Psychiatry section, as well as a subspecialty training fellowship program at the University of Michigan, and has served, since 1997, as Editor-in-Chief of a geriatric neurology journal, and internationally recognized clinical research journal in the field. His research interests involves experimental pharmacotherapies in Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, course and outcomes of psychiatric illness in the elderly, and neurotransmitter function and pharmacotherapy in geriatric alcoholism. He is currently Associate Professor and Attending Physician at a major University. He has lectured widely on topics in Geriatric Psychiatry and has served as expert witness in malpractice and contested will cases.
