This expert earned her BS and MS in textiles from the Georgia Institute of Technology before receiving a PhD in textile and polymer science from Clemson University. In addition to her extensive research and publications in the area of textiles and fibers, she also gained practical experience through her roles as an industrial engineer for various production companies. She also was formerly a professor at the Institute of Textile Technology, and then she became a professor of textile engineering at Auburn University. Following her tenure there, she founded a materials creation and testing company for a wide range of protective products. She is currently the president and chief scientist for this firm.
