Expert Qualifications
Dr. Jan E. Mathisen has 35 years of experience in the field of Pediatric Neurology. He earned his BA from John Hopkins University and his MD from the Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed both an internship and a residency in Pediatrics at the UAB Hospital before completing another residency in Adult Neurology at Washington University Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at St. Louis Children's Hospital and a research fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Today, this expert is board certified in Pediatrics and Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. Formerly, this expert served as a Physician in Private Practice. He currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine, as well as a Physician at Children's of Alabama.
