Expert Qualifications
This highly-qualified, board-certified expert has over three decades of experience as a family medicine physician. He earned his BS in chemistry from Union University followed by his MD from the University of Tennessee. He then completed a residency in family practice at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and an MPH in epidemiology from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. He is active in his field as a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, as a counselor for the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, and as the author of 28 refereed publications. He has formerly served as an associate professor of family medicine, chairman of the family medicine department, and as director of medical education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He is currently a professor of family medicine at a university in Alabama and a practicing family medicine physician at a regional VA hospital.
