Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified expert has a decade of experience in her field and is board certified in internal medicine, addiction medicine, palliative care, and infectious disease. She earned her BS in biology and history and policy from Carnegie Mellon University, her MBA, and MD from the University of Pennsylvania and her PhD in health education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she went on to complete a fellowship in infectious disease. She then completed a second fellowship in palliative medicine at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. She is active in her field as a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine and the Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance Use and Addiction. Additionally, she has co-authored and published many articles about opioid addiction. She was formerly an assistant professor of medicine and a core faculty member at the Center for AIDS research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is currently an associate professor of medicine at a university in PA and the medical director of the HIV Pain/Palliative Care Clinic and a ward attending at a university medical center in PA.
