Expert Qualifications
This expert has a decade of experience in counseling, focusing on trauma and addiction. She received her BA in communication from Central Connecticut State University and her MS in community counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a board certified counselor, a certified, advanced alcohol and drug counselor and both a licensed alcohol and drug counselor and professional counselor. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Board for Certified Counselors and the American Counseling Association. Formerly, she served as a clinician at Southeastern Council for Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and as a clinical care manager at Beacon Health Options. She has also served as an intake coordinator and then a clinical supervisor at Middlesex Health Psychiatric Day Treatment. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at a university, a psychotherapist at a private practice and a trauma and addiction specialist for a private wellness center, all in Connecticut.
