Expert Qualifications
Dr. Jonathan Somers has 28 years of experience in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He earned his BA from The University of Pennsylvania and his MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his residency in General Surgery at Rhode Island Hospital, he went on to complete a fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. Today, this expert is board certified in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery. Formerly, this expert held roles as the Director of the Cardiovascular Institute at Advocate Health Care and as the Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Currently, he serves as the Director of Cardiovascular Surgery for Lake County at NorthShore University HealthSystems.
