Expert Qualifications
Dr. Kenneth L. Orloff has 55 years of experience in Aeronautical Engineering. He earned his BS in Physics from Harvey Mudd College, his MA in Physics, and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara. Today, this expert is Certified by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Airline Transport Pilot, an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic, and a Flight Instructor. Formerly, this expert served as an Aerospace Engineer and Aeronautical Research Scientist in the Low-Speed Aircraft Research Branch at National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Ames Research Center, and held several teaching positions, including as a Part-Time Professor of Aeronautics at San José State University. Currently, this expert is the Owner and a Consultant at Orloff Consulting, a firm that specializes in fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation accidents.
