Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified expert has over 30 years of experience in environmental health and safety, civil engineering, and environmental engineering. She obtained her BA in biology from Northwestern University and her MS in civil engineering from the University of Miami, before receiving her PhD in geography and environmental engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Today, this expert is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Chemical Society, the, American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors. She is also very active in academia, having been the recipient of dozens of prestigious research grants and having published over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles on topics related to environmental health and safety, civil engineering, and environmental engineering. She previously served as a research hydrologist at the Everglades National Park, as an environmental engineer at Carr Smith and Associates, and as an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Notre Dame. More recently, this expert worked at Northwestern University as the director of the Institute of Sustainable Practices, as the associate director of the Institute of Environmental Catalysis, as an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, and as the director of the environmental science, engineering, and policy program. Until recently, she was also a senior science fellow at the Environmental Law and Policy Center in Chicago. She is currently the chair of civil and environmental engineering, a professor of civil and environmental engineering, and the co-director of the global and ecological health engineering program at a top university, as well as a faculty member at an environmental law, regulation, and economic growth center in Illinois.
