Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified marine surveyor has over 20 years of experience in many aspects of this field and specializes in maritime accident investigations, worldwide. He earned is BS from the University of Oregon and earned his vessel examiner certification through the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary. Over the years, this expert has also participated in countless university and correspondence courses in yacht design, diesel engines, admiralty law, international law, marine insurance, investigative surveying of marine casualties, and maritime safety awareness. He is an active member of prestigious professional societies including the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors, International Association of Marine Investigators, American Boat and Yacht Council, and New Orleans Port Safety Council. Formerly, this expert served as a steam engineer in the U.S. Navy, a manager for Pedro Miguel Boat Club, and an instructor for the Damage & Joint Field Surveys Course at the Chapman School of Seamanship for 10 years. He is a lifelong sailor who currently serves as a full-time marine surveyor based in LA where he delivers reports and professional consulting services around the world.
