Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified registered nurse has more than 20 years of experience providing bedside care in the surgical intensive care unit. She earned her BSN from Catholic University before earning a BS in political science from Virginia Tech. She holds certifications as a critical care registered nurse, a basic life support instructor, and an advanced cardiac life support instructor. She began her career as an emergency department triage nurse at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital before transitioning to Washington DC VA Medical Center to serve as a staff and charge nurse in the SICU as well as the ACLS director and a lead instructor. She is currently the research coordinator and the CT surgery heart center coordinator for a VA medical center in Washington DC.
