Expert Qualifications
Dr. Michael R. Bard has 22 years of experience in the fields of Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He earned his BA in Biology from New York University, his MD from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, and his MBA from East Carolina University. After completing his residency in General Surgery at Temple University Hospital, he went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Today, this expert is dual board-certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Formerly, he served as an Acute Care Surgeon at The Outerbanks Hospital, as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, and as the Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Vidant Medical Center. He currently serves as an Acute Care Surgeon at ECU Physicians and at the Vidant SurgiCenter. He also serves both as a Co-Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and as an Acute Care Surgeon in the Department of Surgery at the Vidant Medical Center, as well as an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
