He received his BS in metallurgical engineering and materials science from Carnegie Mellon University before earning his MD from the University of Colorado. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and his fellowship in renal diseases and hypertension at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. This expert is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology and hypertension. He began his career as a clinical nephrologist for Colorado Kidney Associates. He then worked as an electronic medical records consultant for companies like Kaiser Permanente before becoming an assistant professor of medicine in the division of renal diseases and hypertension at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He has served in many distinguished roles, including the medical director of the hemodialysis unit at the Denver Veteran's Affairs Medical Center and the chief of nephrology at HealthOne Sky Ridge Medical Center. This expert is also heavily involved in research, having authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters concerning nephrology and electronic medical records. Currently, he serves as the director of information technology for a group nephrology practice and a nephrology service teaching attending physician for a residency program in Colorado.
