Expert Qualifications
This qualified expert has over 30 years of experience as a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He received his BS from Graceland College, his MPH from the University of Minnesota, and his MD from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then went on to complete an internship and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is active in his field as a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons as well as having authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications, 7 books, and 34 book chapters. Previously, he served as an assistant and associate professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as the vice-chairman of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Currently, this expert is the chairman and a professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at a medical school in Alabama, an attending physician at the medical school's affiliated hospital, and the chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the university's affiliated eye hospital.
