He is a member of the American Boer Goat Association and the director of his local chapter. In addition to being a member of the American Goat Federation, he also sits on the committee to develop a Q fever vaccine. He was previously a research coordinator at the Texas A&M Research Center where he conducted grazing management research, feeding trails as well as helping to develop the sore mouth vaccine for goats. He currently owns a goat and cattle ranch in TX.
