Expert Qualifications
This highly qualified expert has over 20 years of experience as a board certified otolaryngologist with a sub-specialty certification in neurotology. He earned his BS in zoology before earning his MD both at Duke University. He then went on to complete an internship in surgery as well as a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery both at Stanford University Medical Center. He went on to complete a very prestigious fellowship in otology/neurotology/skull base surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. This expert is very active in his field as a member of multiple professional societies including the Hearing Loss Association of America, the American Cochlear Implant Alliance, the American Neurotology Society, and the Christian Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgeons. In addition, this expert has taught national and international courses, well over 100 lecturers and presentations, and has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles and 25 book chapters. Formerly, this expert served as an assistant professor of otolaryngology at UT-Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. Currently, this expert holds several positions including director of the adult cochlear implant/auditory brainstem implantation center, program director of the neurotology fellowship, associate professor of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and chief of otology/neurotology all at a medical school and affiliated children's hospital in Ohio. He is also the medical director of the intraoperative monitoring group at a university in Ohio and is the program director of an international advanced otology fellowship.
