Expert Qualifications
Dr. Steven G. Kernie has 24 years of experience in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He earned his BA in Human Biology from Stanford University and his MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He completed an internship and a residency in Pediatrics and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Children's Medical Center Dallas. Today, this expert is board certified in Critical Care Medicine through the American Board of Pediatrics. Formerly, this expert served as the Interim Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and as a Professor of Pediatrics (in Neurology) at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He currently serves as a Special Lecturer and as the Director of the Kernie Lab at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is also Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer of Women's and Children's Services at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he also serves as an Attending Physician.
