Expert Qualifications
Dr. Travis Burns has 11 years of experience in the fields of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He earned his BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his MD from the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center. After completing both an internship and residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Brooke Army Medical Center, he went on to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Keller Army Community Hospital. Today, this expert is board-certified in both Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine. Additionally, he is also a Certified Professional Biller and Certified Orthopedic Surgery Coder. Formerly, he served as an Orthopedic Staff Surgeon for the 47th/21st Combat Support Hospital, as the Chief of the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service at the Book Army Medical Center, and as an Orthopedic Staff Surgeon for the 129th Medical Company of the United States Army. He currently serves as a Surgeon in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at CHRISTUS Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine - San Antonio, as an Orthopedic Surgeon at the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Orthopedics - Sports Medicine Saturday Clinic, and as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Ortho San Antonio.
