Expert Qualifications
Dr. Walter R. Wilson has 47 years of experience in the field of Infectious Diseases. He earned his BA in Chemistry from Baylor University and his MD from the Baylor College of Medicine. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, he went on to complete fellowships in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, respectively, at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Today, this expert is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, and Medical Microbiology. Formerly, he served as Assistant Professor of Microbiology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and as the Chair of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Mayo Clinic. Currently, he serves as a Consultant in the both the Division of Infectious Diseases and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and as a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
