This highly qualified wildlife management expert earned his Masters and PhD in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where he also served as an Associate Lecturer on the topic of Wildlife Population Dynamics and Zoology. He belongs to a number of prestigious societies in the wildlife field, with a focus on birds and fowl, including the Waterbirds Society and the American Ornithologists' Union. He is extensively published in the field and his research activities include wildlife population ecology, animal behavior, wildlife habitat interaction, wildlife policy, gamebird ecology, and waterfowl ecology.
