Expert Qualifications
This highly-qualified expert is a nationally-renowned expert in vitreoretinal ophthalmology. He earned his BA and MD from Johns Hopkins University before completing an internship at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He then completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in vitreoretinal service at The Wilmer Institute of Johns Hopkins University. This expert is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the Associate for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Vitreous Society/American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Macula Society. He is an author of 5 books, 110 book chapters and monographs, 343 journal articles, and an active reviewer of over 20 academic journals. Formerly, he served as an ophthalmologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Loch Raven Veterans Hospital, and Homewood Hospital, as well as an instructor at The Wilmer Institute through Johns Hopkins University. More recently, he served as an assistant professor and then associate professor at the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Institute. Currently, he serves as an attending physician at two hospitals in Florida and a professor at a top-ranked university and eye hospital.
