The woman sustained a multitude of serious injuries as a result of the collision. The ambulance’s lights and sirens were not on and therefore the pedestrian had no warning that the ambulance was approaching. There were passengers in the ambulance, although it was not a medical emergency. The attorney for this case is in need of an expert who is trained in driving ambulances and/or provides training in driving ambulances and who can explain the precautions necessary to avoid this kind of incident, including blind spot awareness.

I am happy to review this case on the plaintiff’s behalf. I am a certified EMS Instructor for the State of Connecticut. Proper field training in the operation of an ambulance is essential to prevent accidents. In addition to the proper training, this incident could have been avoided as there is current technology in today’s ambulances to monitor their speed. I am a licensed paramedic and have been involved in emergency response for over 30 years. I have driven ambulances and trained emergency responders to drive ambulances. I have never been personally involved in a similar accident.
